Viña Valdivieso dates back to 1879 when Alberto Valdivieso founded Champagne Valdivieso, the first company in Chile and South America to make sparkling wine. After more than 100 years, in the late 1980s, the company expanded in a new direction when the commercial production of fine wines began, under the name of Viña Valdivieso, in the valley of Curicó, more precisely in Lontué.
The production of quality wines requires careful and balanced management at each stage of vinification. The greatest efforts of the winery are concentrated in the vineyards in the continuous search for the best grapes, a determining factor for the quality and typicalness of each label. In the winery during the winemaking process, the search is to recover the qualities of each variety with the least possible intervention to avoid loss of power or complexity. For wines that are aged in barrels, the basic rule is the balance, so that the wood improves the characteristics of the fruit without exceeding it.
For this reason, the wines of Viña Valdivieso triumph in the main world markets and reach the highest distinctions in international competitions, with superior wines, differentiated and very attractive.
